It is no secret that The Vintage Suit Hire Company are one of my favourite suppliers in our area.  And even better, they hire and make to measure amazing suits for the dapper gent.

Today they are here on my blog with a guest post all about groomsmen trends for 2020.

We know, it’s only December and you still have Christmas to get through, but here at VSHC we never stop thinking about weddings!

With a new year and new decade fast approaching, we have taken a look at the wedding trends that we believe are going to be big next year.

Colour of 2020

Pantone has announced their colour of the year as ‘Classic Blue’, we, however, have decided to buck the trend and pick our own colour of the year.

Drum roll, please… OLIVE.

Groomsmen Trends for 2020

Yes, we predict Olive to be our colour of 2020. We currently stock an awesome calming and modern olive set of accessories that go with each of our suits. They are ideal for weddings going for a boho / botanical style and match perfectly with eucalyptus and gypsophila. It also goes down a storm for a more rustic, wedding in a barn, field or your back garden; just make sure your tie is tucked into your waistcoat whilst making your grazing table food picks, chutney on your tie will be caught on camera…

Sustainability

Having a sustainable and ethical wedding day is becoming more and more important to couples around the world. Couples are more interested in how they can put an individual stamp on their day without spending to excess and creating a huge amount of waste, and we are all for that (and I’m sure your budget spreadsheet is rejoicing too.)

There are so many ways to make a positive impact on your big day, you could have a plastic-free wedding or select caterers that use only local produce. Get salvaging pallets to use as signage, make a charitable donation in place of favours or use LED neon signs as a focus of the décor which can then be used to decorate the newlywed’s home afterwards. It seems like being sustainable and adding all-important individuality to your wedding day go hand in hand.

Couples are moving away from traditional flower arrangements as they can have a huge impact on the environment. Whether it’s selecting seasonal, local flowers or using faux-liage (excuse the pun, we are talking about fake flowers here!). Our range of felt lapel pins make a great alternative to a flower buttonhole and there’s no chance of them being squashed or looking a little droopy towards the end of the day. Not to mention, on average a buttonhole is £10 per gent whereas all our lapel pins are £7 each and last a lifetime.

Groomsmen Trends for 2020

Groomsmen Trends for 2020 – Wedding Attire.

The world of wedding fashion is changing. People are really shaking it up and breaking away from tradition. We’re talking brides in jumpsuits, bold colours and statement accessories. Couples are also wanting to personalise every part of their wedding day, including having special quotes embroidered on to veils or engraved on to a pocket watch.

Men are breaking free from the classic black wedding suit more than ever,  choosing different colours, styles and fabrics to really show off their personalities. Whether it’s floral print, sequins or, our personal favourite, tweed, expect to see groomsmen trends for 2020 that stand out.

Groomsmen

2020 is the year of the groom!

The men’s grooming industry is booming, with potential grooms spending more money and time on making sure they look their best for the big day. We stock the fantastic Bedfordshire Beard Company products, get your beard looking and smelling great with their beard wash and oil, or use their wax to style that ‘tache. Not forgetting our own range of hair products, they even come in handy pocket size – perfect for keeping your hair in place from morning to midnight.

Not only are grooms taking a more active role in wedding planning than ever before according to Hitched, but they also want the same experience brides receive at bridal boutiques. This is something very important to us here at the VSHC, we have created a space where grooms come first. Our appointments lounge is equal parts cosy and cool, take a seat on the sofa and have a beer or coffee whilst we have a chat about your wedding plans.
